UIS have informed us of planned disruption to the University network early on Wednesday morning. This is likely to affect internet connectivity throughout the University, some University IT systems as well as external access from the internet to departmental and University systems.
Following network connectivity issues over last weekend, 21-23 August 2026, UIS engineers and our vendor support team will be carrying out investigations from 04:00 to 08:00 on Wednesday 2 September 2026. This work is required to conduct root cause analysis to enable us to minimise the likelihood of the fault happening again.
It is likely that there will be some impact to University IT services during the window 04:00 to 08:00 on 2 September. We have scheduled this work at this time to try to minimise the impact, but anyone using our systems at that time may experience problems with Internet connections using the University Data Network (UDN).
We anticipate that the system will be running as normal by 08:00. Anyone experiencing issues after that time should please contact the UIS Service Desk.
